PUTU MAYANG

It is such a long time I post articles here on baking and cooking. Indeed it is.
I have been very busy both in my career and family life.
Let me share what I made yesterday at the cooking class. The photos are the final results of what I made. And I am so happy now that I know how to make Putu Mayang. My late Mother-in-law used to teach me how to make Putu Mayang from a to Z when I was in my early 20s. Understandably I was still young and disinterested. And now, I have full regrets of not paying attention to her teachings.
I attended this cooking class on Monday 16 July 2018, learning how to make Putu Mayang and also Cendol.
I admit that ingredients for putu mayang are so simple. But having the right methods is so important that it really show the result.
As for the sweet gravy, few of the ingredients are unexpected. I never thought that those ingredients do play important parts in making the gravy's mixture thick and glossy.
Now talking about Cendol. I thought the gravy is just by mixing coconut milk with water and other ingredients and then heating the mixture. NOPE.
With what I learnt yesterday, I now know new tactics of making the gravy for Cendol.
